I’m Katrina Placer, as luxury family vacation travel agent, I help families across Colorado and beyond plan effortless, memory-filled trips. Located in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado. I founded this agency to help parents rediscover the joy of travel. I know that busy families want unforgettable getaways but often lack the hours needed for deep research and planning.
My passion is designing seamless, high-end vacations for clients from across the country and right here in NoCo. My path to becoming a travel expert began in 2017 as an independent consultant with a Disney-focused travel agency. I then created Family Fun Journeys in 2021 when it was time to create an agency of my own focusing on what truly matters to me.
Today, Family Fun Journeys is a premier agency for those who appreciate the finer things. As your dedicated advisor, I handle the complex logistics so you don’t have to. I curate every detail from boutique stays to unique excursions, ensuring that every trip is perfectly tailored to your family’s pace and preferences. With 9 years of experience as a professional travel consultant, I specialize in crafting personalized luxury family vacations that align with your lifestyle, preferences, and pace. Each itinerary is meticulously curated, communication is clear and proactive, and no detail is overlooked.
My love for travel was sparked by family road trips and the influence of my mother, who worked in the airline industry. This enduring passion for discovering new cultures and destinations inspired me to pursue both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Geography, which I now utilize to create tailored itineraries for my clients.
I currently reside in Fort Collins, CO, with my cherished cats, Merry and Bright, after moving from New Jersey in 2025 to be closer to family and to focus on healing from the past.
Overcoming Adversity
Living with Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), and Cervical Dystonia, I navigate travel with the assistance of a scooter and cane. My personal struggles with allergies and Celiac Disease have made me particularly sensitive to the need for fragrance-free accommodations and safe dining options to avoid cross-contamination.
My sales and customer service journey began at an early age as the only Girl Scout in my neighborhood, which equipped me with essential skills in building customer relationships. My cookie sales were always through the roof thanks to supply and demand lol! In high school, my skills expanded from working in a library to telephone customer service, which sharpened my ability to effectively manage client needs, stay calm, think on my feet, and diffuse potentially difficult situations.
My time as a residential Girl Scouts summer camp counselor honed my ability to create engaging experiences, which seamlessly translates into designing dream luxury vacations for families. After earning my degree in Geography and Regional Planning, I worked in county planning until health challenges redirected me toward my true passion: travel planning, which evolved into Family Fun Journeys. This business allows me to merge my love for travel with my professional expertise, all while utilizing my lived experiences with mental and physical challenges to help others with similar paths.
In 2024, I paused operations to prioritize my mental health, but I returned in February 2026 with a fresh vision, while rebranding and redefining Family Fun Journeys' niche, look, and feel. Today, I provide luxury travel planning with an inclusive approach that embraces all definitions of family. My commitment is to ensure a safe, non-discriminatory space for all clients, shaped by my own experiences.
